Cars 3: Driven To Win is nothing special as far as racing games go, in fact, you can do much better, especially in 2025. However, I am a major fan of the Cars franchise, and I had to pick this game up to see if it was any good. The conclusion I came to is that this game is perfectly fine. It has the Cars vibe and graphics and isn’t too difficult to play. If you have kids who are into Cars this game technically provides a good amount of entertainment.
Game Modes
There are a variety of modes in Cars 3: Driven To Win, such as Race, where you race to see who can finish first. Battle Race is the same as a normal race, but this time, you have weapons. Takedown, where players use weapons and power-ups to take out as many cars as possible. Stunt Showcase, where you have to put on a show by doing as many stunts as possible. Best Lap Challenge, where players must try and get the best lap/ Thomasville Playground, which is a sandbox that allows players to race, perform stunts, complete challenges, or cruise. Finally, there are Master Level Events where players race with bosses and can unlock specific characters if they win.
Before moving to the PlayStation 5 and losing my progress, Stunt Showcase was my favorite game mode. But all of the others offer a good time too. The game modes are one of the biggest reasons I would recommend Cars 3: Driven To Win for a young racing fan.
Gameplay
Cars 3: Driven To Win features a cast of 23 characters, you start with six and unlock more as you progress. The racing feels okay; if you’re looking for something with tight controls, this isn’t the game for you. Instead, it feels like arcade racing. Turning off automatic drifting makes for a better experience, but having the option is a huge plus for a game like this.
Scoring
Cars 3: Driven To Win is the perfect game for a young racing fan. The game mode variety will keep you occupied for hours and on top of that there are many characters to unlock and try. There is a modest amount of customization, and the only reason this doesn’t bother me is because I like how accurate the cars look to their movie counterparts.
I have to call attention to the voice acting which comes up short sometimes but is easily ignored. There is a lot of replay value here and although I won’t be touching the game again I did have fun with what I played.
