Hi! So I love Abiotic Factor, and I know that it can be a bit difficult to dive into. In this article, I have compiled 5 tips that I believe every new player should know.
Before you dive into the tips, be sure to check out my 2025 Abiotic Factor Collection. Also, if you want to help keep the Pixel Panda Arcade ad-free, please consider dropping by my Ko-Fi!
5) Crafting a Repair and Salvage Station as soon as possible
The Repair and Salvage Station will allow you to break down items and furniture quickly. It also allows you to repair your items beyond what duct tape offers.

Plus, check out this video where I explain the whole table!
4) You can repair items with duct tape
You have to have the tape in your inventory. On Xbox, press the X button while hovering over the item you want to repair. Be aware that this will not repair the item fully. You’ll have to keep using the duct tape to get the durability back to 100%
3) Craft 1 of everything!
Every time you unlock something to craft, make sure you craft it. You can unlock more items to craft this way.
Likewise, be sure to break things down too! For example, a fire extinguisher is broken down to get the Canister that is needed to make the Air Compressor, which is traded for a very important Fire Proximity Suit. You can hover over an item to see what it can be broken down into.
2) Your crafting bench can be upgraded!
You can upgrade your bench to craft from boxes in a radius, plus there are other extremely useful upgrades attached to the box.
1) General Survival Tips
I had a few things I wanted to put here, so I am just going to drop a list for you guys!
- If you do not sleep, your character is going to die.
- You can get water from sinks that will refill. You can also boil water on a stove, which will clean it.
- You can create healing items for yourself, but your health also regenerates over time.
- Everything will loop back to where you spawn, but there are a lot of good base spots.
- Your workbenches can be attacked as well as other deployable items. When your items break, they will turn into a little square, and you can place them again. Items are fixed with a hammer.
