Carpet Cleaning Simulator is a game that is exactly what the name suggests. A game where you clean carpets, upgrade your tools, and try to make as much money as possible. But it’s really not that simple because in this game you witness the end of the world. No, I’m not kidding. 

Welcome to Demo Spotlight, today we are talking about the Carpet Cleaning Simulator Demo and why I think that this game could become a must-play for fans of the simulator genre. 

Carpet Cleaning Simulator has all of the makings of a normal simulator game. Except the game is technically an incremental game where you’re racing against time to try and save time itself. At the end of every run, you’re given a set of upgrades to choose from. Choose wisely because you start with almost nothing on your next run. This gameplay loop had me hooked from the moment I realized what was going on, so much so that I spent almost 4 hours on this demo, which is something I was trying not to do during Steam Next Fest.

While the gameplay loop is fun, there are quite a few areas of the game that could be improved. Starting with the soap, which could be a lot better. Scrubbing with soap and washing it away is one of the most satisfying parts of cleaning a carpet. Scrubbing, in general, is not nearly as satisfying as it could be, which is a massive shame. 

There are quite a few cleaning tools to unlock, but for the most part they’re all missing the satisfying nature of what cleaning a carpet should feel like. Water is another issue as well; you should be able to get more dirt off with water, which, from what I could tell, wasn’t happening. However, I like the upgrades, and I like that the upgrades actually matter. You can tell that you’re technically cleaning carpets faster as you get through the game.
